Avoiding Common Aftercare Mistakes: Ensuring a Smooth Healing Process for Your Tattoo

Dry Skin

If you notice dry skin on your tattoo during the healing process, it's essential to take steps to moisturize and nourish the skin to prevent complications and promote proper healing

Over Moisturizing

Although moisturizing the tattooed area is crucial for it to heal, stay away from over-moisturization as it is often the hidden cause of an infection. Remember to apply your lotion regularly, but allow it to assimilate before putting on another layer.

Peeling & Scabbing

After few days of getting inked, the skin on your tattooed area will begin to peel, often leaving few scabs on the surface, which is perfectly normal in the healing process. DO NOT itch or pick at those scabs or scratch your skin at any cost. You will want to moisturize  your tattoo.

No hot water 

While washing your tattoo with lukewarm water is a good idea for getting rid of all the blood and plasma quickly, make sure you NEVER use hot water to wash your tattoo! 

Tattoo Bandage 

Your tattoo artist will clean the tattooed area and then send you home with a bandage over your fresh tattoo. Follow the artist's recommended time with the bandage. the bandage on your tattoo.

No Scented Lotions 

No! Cosmetics and creams containing chemicals and scents might make their way to the tattooed skin, which is sensitive and scarred.

Irritated tattoo

It's important to note that some level of redness, swelling, and discomfort is normal during the initial stages of tattoo healing. Keep Clean and moisturize your tattoo.

However, if you experience any of the following: Scabbing or Crusting, Pus or Discharge, Raised Bumps or Hives, Pain or Discomfort to a greater extreme. it's essential to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and guidance.
